MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
- Maintains and carries out minor repairs of electrical lines and water pump system not requiring special technical knowledge
- Assists the Electro-mechanical Technicians in maintaining electrical lines, materials, medical equipment and office machines;
- Carries out minor repairs of electrical equipment including fans, washing machines, electrical heaters as well as simple medical apparatuses;
- Checks and installs telephone and intercom lines and maintains them in a good condition;
- Fixes and maintains curtains for all Health Centers;
- Checks the newly purchased furniture and some electrical machines and tools prior to distribution to Health Centers;
- Performs such other duties as may be required.
- Successful completion of full secondary education;
- A training course in general maintenance.
- At least two years experience in maintenance work
- Good command of written and spoken Arabic
- Ability to take initiative and maintain constructive relationship with other staff;
- Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor and control repair works;
- Ability to diagnose requirements for repair of furniture and electrical machines
- The incumbent will be required to work frequently at all Health Centers in Gaza Strip.
- It is desirable to have successful completion of two years post secondary course preferably as electrician.
- Good command of English.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
- Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $582.60; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 25%) and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
- Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period.
- Leave: 30 days annual leave
- Pension: Provident Fund contribution
- Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered
ASSESSMENT METHOD
Qualified candidates will be required to undergo tests and a competency based interview. To learn more
